OEM Documentation

Master Minimum Equipment List:

MMEL conversion to MEL is a regulatory requirement for all airline operators. This is done by incorporating Type Specific MMEL supplements from EASA / FAA or issued by local NAA.

Careful application of Rectification intervals and minimum number of items required will result in a MEL that will allow maximum aircraft utilisation balanced against regulated safety standards.

A separate document called NON-ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS (NEF) is not a regulated manual but has proved to provide reference for operators and create a more efficient decision making process during turn-rounds and aid the logistics of parts procurement.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)

SOP's are an essential part of operating an aircraft. They should be as close as possible to the Aircraft manufacturer recommended SOP's but must take into consideration any operational differences. For example "Packs Off" take off is standard for most European operators but not for heat soaked aircraft in the Middle East.
